BDS department
Department of Public Health Dentistry
What we teach and treat
Taking oral health care to the community.
The department promotes oral health and improves quality of life for individuals and communities through preventive, promotive and community-based dental care, combining teaching, clinical services, research and outreach. It runs regular community screening and treatment camps, school oral health programmes, awareness drives, and tobacco cessation and oral cancer screening programmes, and trains BDS students through community-based field work, health education, epidemiological surveys and research. To reach people with limited access to dental care, it operates two satellite centres in underserved areas — in Gharoli village and at DLF, Bhopura village — offering affordable check-ups, preventive care and treatment for common dental problems, with referral to the college hospital when needed.
Promoting oral health, preventing disease, transforming communities.
