Odontology meets Forensic : A Series of Lecture and Workshop

A value-added course was conducted by Department of Oral Medicine & Radiology on 16th and 17th May 2025 on the topic “Odontology meets Forensic : A Series of Lecture and Workshop”. The Guest Speaker enlightened the students on the application of forensic odontology in real-world scenarios and provided hands-on workshop to the students. It was an active interactive session that was finally concluded with the queries from the participants. All the raised queries were satisfactorily answered by the speaker.The programme was attended by 98 participants

Recent Advancements in Early Detection of Oral Cancer

A program on “Recent Advancements in Early Detection of Oral Cancer” was conducted by Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Oral Microbiology, on 3.4.2025, Thursday and 4.4.2025, Friday from 9:00AM to 4:30 PM, in LT 5. The guest speaker for the program was Dr Nutan Tyagi, Prof and Head, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Oral Microbiology, IDST, Modinagar. Oral cancer is one of the most common cancers occurring in humans all over the world. Since early detection of the disease improves the overall prognosis, the purpose of this program was to make the students aware of the common and advanced methods, from simple vital staining to Velscope and even Artificial Intelligence, followed in early detection of the oral cancer and their practical applications in various cancer cases. The demonstration of vital staining and histopathology slide seminar through Image Projection System enhanced the academic and clinical knowledge of the students

The students learned about the properties and handling characteristics of the material and how it is an alternative to amalgam. The students were given a demonstration and got an opportunity to use the material on Typhodont teeth

The Programme was attended by 134 participants. The event focused on inhalation sedation, and understanding inhalation sedation in the field of pediatric dentistry. The speaker laid special emphasis on problems that we encounter while taking care of an anxious and uncooperative child patient in clinical care. Basic Life Support & First Aid Training

Inderprastha Dental College & Hospital organized a training session on "BASIC LIFE SUPPORT & FIRST AID TRAINING" on, 28 th, to 31th January 2025 in which 26 Postgraduate Students & 100 Undergraduate Students participated. The session, led by Mr. Manu Yadav. Students learned about CPR skills for infants, child and adult victims, how to provide first aid and maneuver for foreign body removal in case of choking. Students were trained at basic level of professional care for victims of cardiac arrest

Basic Life Support programme

Inderprastha Dental College and Hospital organized Basic Life Support program on 20th November 2022, in association with IAP -ALS Group and health care provider course for undergraduate students. This program was directed by the dynamic team of Dr Shalu Gupta Professor at Kalawati Hospital ,Dr Kishan Jaina ,senior medical administrative officer-MCD ,Dr Prashant Gupta,HOD ,AIIMS with coordinator Mr.Sandeep,Mr.Kuldeep and Ms. Seema. The program was divided into Basic lectures and videos followed by demonstration and live practise on manniques. Student were rewarded and certified with IAP-Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation provider course after successfully clearing the exam.

The Guest Speaker of the Day was Dr Agam Bhatnagar, MDS (Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics). He enlightened the students with his knowledge and experience of using magnification. He explained about the patient and operator positioning while working under magnification. He motivated the students to shift onto magnification dentistry from the traditional dentistry.
