The 'Alma-ata' declaration by W.H.O gave the slogan of 'Health for all by 2000 A.D.' India, too was one of the signatories of the declaration. We are already well into 2000 A.D. and it is time for an honest assessment of the lofty goals that we fixed for ourselves. Have we got rid of the various ailments that afflict the human race today? Far from that, multitudes of Indians are not even provided with basic health care. Where have we gone wrong? A little introspection will show us that so far, health care has by and large, been considered the domain of the Govt. agencies. The State Governments with their ever shrinking resources and burgeoning population can hardly meet the health requirements of a billion people. It is here that the role of voluntary agencies in the health care gains significance. The health care system constitutes the evaluation of health needs. Providing the infrastructure for an efficient delivery system, and creation of adequate trained manpower that is capable of delivering the best of treatment at an affordable cost.

The Kunj Behari Lal Charitable Trust has vowed to provide the system with highly trained manpower that is ready to sacrifice their comfort and do their duty of allaying human sufferings with devotion and compassion and while doing seek out a reasonable and respectful living for themselves.

For long it has been considered that Indians have healthy teeth. It is however a misconception as scientific surveys have established beyond doubt that nearly hundred percent of Indian population suffers from the gum disease and more than half suffer from tooth decay. To provide dental healthcare to our population a massive manpower development with efficient infrastructure is the need of the hour. At Inderprastha Dental College & Hospital we are on the process of creating what is the latest technology has provided so far by way of equipment and materials. It is also our endeavor to employ the latest methodology in learning and to put in practice what is best for the common man.

To develop their potentials to the optimum, the college is providing an ideal environment to the students. The college campus spread over sprawling 6 acres, is a self contained unit that provides facilities like separate hostels for boys and girls, bank, tuck shop, S.T.D., guest house and round the clock electricity and water supply, well equipped clinics, laboratories and state of the art library is the envy of any institution.
